Do you have a Donor-Advised Fund? You can use it to make a powerful, tax-efficient gift to support our mission.

We have partnered with DAF Direct, offering a direct link(opens in new tab)(opens in new tab) that makes giving easy: you can specify how you’d like your grant used, communicate your intentions directly to KCA, and connect with your DAF provider.

Supporting KCNQ2 Cure through your DAF is a simple way to sustain progress in research and patient support, while preserving cash for other needs.

If you are 70 1/2 years or older, you can give up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to your favorite charity.

The transfer is not included in your taxable income, and it does not generate a tax deduction.

Once you turn 72, the charitable distribution can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

To take advantage of this giving opportunity, all you have to do is submit a request to your broker for a charitable contribution from your IRA to be sent to your favorite charity.

Giving a gift of publicly traded stock is both a way to advance the mission of KCNQ2 Cure and a way to provide greater tax benefits than making a cash donation. By donating stock, you may avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock, and you can save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
